About the Race for Rehab Team

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital’s Race for Rehab program encourages our community in athletic endeavors in support of our mission. Additionally, we are proud to partner with the Boston Athletic Association as an Official Charity of the Boston Marathon. Since 2005, Race for Rehab teammates have raised more than $6M and the program has grown from one member to nearly 700 alumni from across the globe.

Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. live with a disability; and 1 in 8 American workers will be disabled for 5 or more years during his or her career? Despite these statistics—and the reality that most of us will require some form of rehabilitation during our lifetime—a scant 0.3% of federal research funds from the National Institutes of Health support rehabilitation medicine. Members of the Race for Rehab team are making a difference in the lives of our patients: past, present and future.

Funds raised by the Race for Rehab Team directly support Spaulding’s commitment to improvements in patient care, teaching and research advancements in rehabilitation medicine.
